PhraseExpress Autotext eliminates repetitive typing and organizes frequently used text snippets. MS Word AutoCorrect entries can now be used in any program, not just in Office. Abbreviations will be expanded and typos corrected while you type.
Pros: PhraseExpress saves a lot of keystrokes and expands custom abbreviations into frequently used text strings. Typing `btw` for example expands into `by the way` or typing `excel` can open a spreadsheet program. Whole documents can be inserted with one keystroke this way. Boilerplate templates can be stored together with text formatting and bitmaps.
A text prediction feature automatically recognizes repetitive phrases and auto-complete them on demand. This application does not require you to tediously define phrases and their corresponding abbreviations by hand like in other text snippet utilities. The text prediction feature is language independent and learns in real-time. Existing documents and Outlook Emails can be scanned to personalize it. The Autotext feature allows assigning a frequently used text such as your address, your signature or a common phrase to a much shorter abbreviation.
PhraseExpress automatically corrects common misspellings while you type and works everywhere a web browser or the messenger. It can also import your existing MS Word AutoCorrect entries for use in any application, not just in Word or Outlook. While the standard Windows clipboard inserts only the last copied text segment, the Clipboard Cache now stores all recently copied clipboard contents for instant pasting into any application. Clipboard cache enhances the native Windows clipboard functionality by remembering all items that are copied to the clipboard for later pasting.
Powerful macro functions can add dynamic contents to static phrases such as the current date, counters or additional manual input. Phrases can be linked or nested. Macros can also launch programs or open documents triggered by shortcuts. Entering `calc` may open the Windows calculator program or striking the hotkey Ctrl+F8 may offer a Google search query of a highlighted text on-the-fly.
Cons: None that we noticed.
Overall: Nice set of features, quite an useful application that is easy to use& learn. Good for a 4 star rating.
